Floating floors
COVERED
Here is more information about the cover for floating floors under AAMI Home Building Insurance.
What's covered
We cover floating floors as part of the building at the insured address for loss or damage caused by insured events. Floating floors are flooring (real or imitation) that isn’t nailed down or glued to the layer beneath.
What’s not covered
There are some instances where you will not be covered. Such as, where loss or damage is caused by, connected with or arises from any part of the building not being in good condition, or having wear, tear or deterioration from ordinary use or ordinary effects of natural forces, and we do not cover some losses where building works are not complete.
In addition, we do not cover floating floors in a unit under our home building policy. However, if you have AAMI Contents Insurance and you insure your contents in a unit, we cover floating floors if they are permanently attached to the unit.
You can learn more about the cover for floating floors and other exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement.
