BUILDING ITEMS
Permanently attached fixtures including wall, ceiling and floor coverings
COVERED
Here is a bit of information on the cover for permanently attached fixtures including wall, ceiling, and floor coverings under AAMI Home Building Insurance.
What's covered
We cover any permanently attached fixtures including wall, ceiling and floor coverings (not carpets) as part of the building for loss or damage caused by insured events. For example, this includes fixtures like wallpaper. We also cover uninstalled building fittings, fixtures and materials to be used for the building but only when kept in a locked and secured building at the insured address.
What’s not covered
Anything that isn’t permanently attached to the building such as, any carpets, rugs, internal blinds and shutters, drapes, or curtains, and air conditioners attached within a window. We do not cover loss or damage caused by, connected with or arising from any part of the building not being in good condition or having wear, tear or deterioration from ordinary use or ordinary effects of natural forces. There are other exclusions to cover, which you can read about in the Product Disclosure Statement.
