Drones

COVERED

Did you know that drones are defined as unmanned aircraft that can be remotely controlled or fly autonomously? Here is more information about when loss or damage may or may not be covered under AAMI’s Home Contents Insurance cover.

What’s covered

Drones are covered for loss or damage to the device caused by insured events, provided they are not used for business activities. They can also be covered at home, when not in use, for accidental damage if you have chosen to add the optional 'Accidental damage at home' cover to your policy. You can learn more about this optional coverage in the Product Disclosure Statement.

What’s not covered

Drones are not covered whilst in use. They are also not covered as unspecified items under the 'Extra Cover Portable Valuables - unspecified items' option.

We do not cover legal liability for or caused by, connected with or arising from the use or ownership of a drone under the policy. In addition, we do not cover loss, damage or liability arising from breaking the law. You can learn more about this coverage and other exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement.
