Offering independence and ease of movement, these transportation options are essential to some of us to get from A to B. Here are instances where you will and will not be covered for loss or damage due to an insured event with AAMI Home Contents Insurance.
What’s covered
We cover golf carts and buggies, wheelchairs, mobility scooters or similar medical aids designed to assist with physical disabilities or the elderly. Know that for claims that include an item valued over $3000, we will ask for proof of purchase, a professional valuation, and a photograph as a minimum.
What’s not covered
There are instances where you will not be covered for loss of damage to golf carts and buggies, wheelchairs, or mobility scooters, or similar medical aids designed to assist physical disabilities or the elderly. Such as, the loss or damage was not the result of an insured event. We do not cover legal liability in connection with use, ownership or instructing someone on how to use the golf cart or buggy, wheelchair or mobility scooter, and similar motor vehicles as defined in the PDS, unless it was being used lawfully at the time, and not subject to the requirements of a compulsory insurance scheme (CTP or MAI).
