COVERED
Explosions can cause considerable loss or damage to your home and contents. Here’s instances where AAMI Home Building and/or Contents Insurance can cover for loss or damage.
What’s covered
If an explosion causes loss or damage to your building or contents, you can lodge a claim. We will cover loss or damage caused by a landslide or subsidence proved to have occurred within 72 hours of, and directly because of, an explosion and not because of erosion, structural fault or design fault.
What’s not covered
There are instances where you are not covered, such as when the damage was caused by nuclear or biological devices. Also, if the loss or damage is caused by erosion, vibration, subsidence, landslip, landslide, mudslide, collapse, shrinkage or any other earth movement.
We also don't cover the cost of repairing or replacing the item or container that exploded.
