What's not covered
Loss, damage to or liability arising from or connected with mechanical or electrical failure or breakdown or anything that fails to operate properly, but we will cover damage caused by:
- fire spreading from an electrical fault to other parts of the building and contents, depending on whether you have AAMI Home Building and/or Home Contents Insurance, to the extent it is covered under insured event ‘Fire (including bushfire)’ in the relevant PDS;
- lightning to the extent it is covered under insured event ‘Lightning’ in the relevant PDS;
- motor burnout – the burning out or fusing of electrical motors – to the extent it is covered under the ‘motor burnout’ additional cover in the relevant PDS.
