What's not covered

Loss, damage or legal liability for or caused by, connected with or arising from any part of the building or unit that was not built, constructed, renovated, altered or repaired in compliance with the applying local council requirements or relevant building laws or regulations (non-complying building component) except those laws or regulations introduced after the building or unit was originally built or after construction, repairs, renovations or alterations were undertaken.

If you are a tenant, this exclusion applies to the extent you were responsible under your tenancy rental agreement to comply with building laws or regulations when the construction, repairs, renovations, or alterations were undertaken.
