If your car’s battery is flat we’ll jump start it or - subject to availability - arrange a replacement battery if required. While we don’t cover the cost of the replacement battery, we can arrange for one to be supplied as part of our service.

We’ll change your tyre with your car's serviceable spare or tow your car to an approved tyre outlet / nearest safe place.
Help with lost or locked-in keys
We’ll pay up to $250 to help arrange for your spare key to be delivered, or to arrange to gain access to your car.
Help with towing your car
Emergency towing to an accredited repairer, up to 20kms from where your car broke down. If there is no accredited repairer within 20kms, we’ll tow the vehicle to the nearest accredited repairer up to 100kms from the breakdown.

You’re never too far from help when you add the AAMI Roadside Assist optional cover to your Comprehensive Car Insurance policy. Get help 24/7 Australia-wide if your car breaks down and you need to be towed. It can also help with flat batteries, flat tyres, lost keys and more!
Of course, if you’ve been in an accident, AAMI Roadside Assist can’t help — you’ll need to make a claim on your Car Insurance for that.
If your car breaks down, day or night, we’ll send someone to help. We can offer a tow, emergency petrol delivery, battery jumpstart, and more. *Conditions and exclusions apply.
Need a jump start? We’ll sort you out. Need a whole new battery? We can arrange that too (you will need to pay for the battery itself).
If you’ve got a working spare, we’ll help change the affected tyre. If necessary, we can arrange a tow to a tyre shop or service centre.
If you run out of petrol, we’ll get you moving again. We’ll top you up with enough to get to the nearest petrol station, up to $10 worth.
We’ll arrange for your spare key to be delivered, or for you to gain access to your car. FYI, the most we’ll pay for this is $250.
In an emergency, we’ll tow you to an accredited repairer, up to 20kms from where you broke down. If there isn’t one within 20kms, we’ll tow it to the nearest one up to 100kms away.
AAMI Roadside Assist is an optional cover that can be added to an AAMI Comprehensive Car Insurance policy for an extra premium normally up to $86 per year. Once you’ve paid, you only have to wait 24 hours before you can use it. Read the AAMI Roadside Assistance T & Cs for more information.

Our service provider will either sort it out on the spot, or arrange a tow, if required. They’ll talk you through it either way.
If your car is towed after a breakdown, and you were using it to haul a caravan or trailer at the time, AAMI Roadside Assist will cover the cost of towing your caravan or trailer to the same location as your car. You should tell us when you first call for help if this applies to you, as the towing provider may be unable to tow both the car and the caravan/trailer in one callout. If further callouts are required, you might be liable for related costs.
