What's included

24 hour roadside callouts
If your car unexpectedly breaks down, we can arrange for someone to provide emergency roadside assistance.
Help with flat batteries
We’ll help jump start a flat battery or arrange a replacement (if required). Please note that arranging a replacement battery is subject to availability, and the battery’s cost isn’t covered.
Help with flat tyres
We’ll help change a flat with your car’s serviceable spare, or transport your car to an approved tyre outlet or nearest safe place (see Help with towing your car).

Emergency fuel
If you run out of fuel, we can arrange for the free delivery of enough fuel to get you to the nearest petrol station, up to a maximum of $10.
Help with locked-in keys
We will pay up to $250 to help arrange for a spare key to be delivered or arrange to gain access to your car, subject to limits in the Roadside Assist Terms and Conditions.
Help with towing your car
If your car can't be fixed by the roadside, we’ll help tow it to the nearest accredited repairer, up to 100km. Extra towing costs are your responsibility and may be paid at service.

What's not included

Cover for accidental damage, break-ins or attempted break-ins
For incidents like these, you may want to consider whether to make a claim on your car insurance policy.
Cover for damage due to inappropriate or lack of maintenance
If the breakdown is due to a failure to use reasonable care, like intentionally running out of fuel or electric vehicle charge, or due to a lack of maintenance, like not replacing a failing battery, it isn’t covered.
Towing that requires a specialist provider
We’ll be on hand to help, but not within 24 hours of you purchasing or adding AAMI Roadside Assist to your AAMI Comprehensive Car Insurance policy.

Towing that requires a specialist provider
If your car is modified, large or heavy to the point it needs a heavy haulage or specialist tower, we won’t be able to provide service.
Service for extreme isolation
If you’re in an inaccessible location or there are inadequate resources in the area where your car has broken down (eg no tow trucks), we aren’t able to provide service.
Cover for unregistered or unroadworthy vehicles
We don’t cover cars that are unregistered, or not in a roadworthy or well-maintained condition where the condition of the car is the reason for the callout.

Get help 24 hours a day, Australia-wide, if your car breaks down. AAMI has partnered with Digicall Assist, the premium independent provider of roadside assistance across Australia.

If your car is towed after a breakdown, and you were using it to haul a caravan or trailer at the time, AAMI Roadside Assist can help cover the cost of transporting your caravan or trailer to the same location as your car or nearest place of safety. You must tell us when you first call for help if this applies to you, as our provider may be unable to transport both the car and the towed caravan/trailer in one callout. If further callouts are required, you might be liable for related costs.

We’ll be on hand to help 24 hours after you purchase or add AAMI Roadside Assist to your AAMI Comprehensive Car Insurance policy.
