How to make a business insurance claim

Lodgement

  • Make sure everyone is safe. Call 000 if necessary.
  • Lodge your claim online.
  • Provide as much detail as possible.

Assessment

  • You can speak to someone in our contact centre at any time
  • We’ll keep you informed with regular updates.
  • If we need to confirm anything, we’ll call you.

Resolution

  • We'll let you know the outcome.
  • We'll arrange repairs, builders or assessors, as required.
  • If repairs aren't applicable, or you want to arrange your own, we may offer a cash settlement of what we deem fair and reasonable.

What we need from you:

Each claim is assessed on its merits and therefore, the documentation requirements may vary from claim to claim3.

  • Policy number
  • Date of loss and approximate time of loss, if known
  • Location of the loss
  • Detailed description of the loss including details of what has been affected
  • A quote or invoice to quantify loss
  • A report from a qualified repairer for building and equipment breakdown claims
  • Insured’s premium must be paid, and cover must apply for loss
  • ABN & ITC% confirmed
  • For an express settlement, EFT details can be provided on lodgement

The above documents and information must be provided when lodging your claim. We may also require that you provide further documentation to AAMI.

We will promptly review your documents and information and where able progress your claim to a timely settlement.
